Boot Camp FAQs
Q. Where do we meet?
A. Battery Park, NYC - Between Chambers & Warren St. off the West Side Hwy.
Kips Bay, NYC - 23rd Street off the FDR.
Oceanside, Long Island NY - Oceanside Road and Foxhurst Road.
Hollywood, FLORIDA - Arts Park at Young Circle.
Q. Are there showers and locker rooms available?
A. Since we are not affiliated with a gym facility, we do not offer locker rooms and showers. However there are many gyms close by that you may already be a member of. Most women either go home to shower or go straight to the gym to shower and get ready for work.
Q. What do I need to bring?
A. An exercise mat, one set of small hand weights (3,5 OR 8 lbs), water bottle, running shoes, and a sense of adventure. You can purchase mats and weights at Modells, Sports Authority or other sports equipment stores.
Q. What can I achieve from camp?
A. Your body will become more fit and toned, and you will gain more confidence making a dramatic improvement in your physical well-being. The camp program includes exercises designed to firm your butt and thighs, flatten your stomach, reduce body fat and increase stamina. By losing fat and gaining muscle, you’ll lose inches and gain strength while looking and feeling better. Also, you’ll meet great people who share in the same vision of striving to reach their goals for a healthier mind and body.
Q. Why should I participate?
A. You will make a dramatic improvement in your physical well-being. In addition, you will meet great people who share your same passion for acquiring a more healthy body and mind. You will be finished with your training before the rest of the world has even gotten started!
Q. What makes Strong Healthy Woman BOOT CAMP different from all of the other boot camps I see?
A. We are a non military-style boot camp that caters to women who don’t want to be screamed at and roll around in the mud.
Q. What is the Pre Camp Evaluation?
A. The Pre-Camp Evaluation includes the following:
- We will give you an introduction to Boot Camp and answer any questions you may have. We will also review your medical history.
- We will take a few simple measurements to see where you are prior to beginning camp. We don’t care what the measurements show. It’s strictly for a post-camp comparison. These numbers and all other information will be held in the strictest confidence.
- We will record your weight and measure your body fat percentage. Again, the numbers don’t matter. We just want to be able to measure your improvement. Don’t be surprised if you see a 3-5% reduction in your body fat over the four weeks!
- You are all set and ready to kick butt!
Q. What if I sign up for the 3-day plan and then want to do more days of the camp?
A. After starting camp, many women realize how fun and convenient it is so they request to sign up for more days. In addition, they realize that the more days they attend camp the greater the results. In these situations, you will simply be pro-rated from the point you decide to join us for more days.
Q. Will I be sore after my workouts?
A. Most people feel some soreness for the first 2-3 days. After that point, it is slight to moderate. It’s part of the process that lets you improve! The trainers will show you easy tactics

Q. What kinds of people go to camp?
A. They are people just like you. Someone who needs a little push to jump start their fitness and wellness program. Some exercise experience is needed to ensure your safety and a better flow of class.
Q. Is there a refund policy?
A. If you are unable to attend camp due to circumstances out of your control, we can offer you a refund if you notify us prior to your session start date. However we will charge a $75.00 cancellation fee. If we are notified after your session begins, we can only give you a credit towards another boot camp. This credit is nontransferable. There is no cash refund. This is not negotiable.
Q. What is a typical day like at camp?
A. That’s difficult to say since each day is intentionally different to alleviate boredom. I have designed this program to be different every day and every 5 minutes! Basically you can expect some light running, weight training, obstacle courses, core training and jumping rope all cleverly disguised in FUN games and drills. On special days, we will take a “field trip” to a different location, otherwise known as “travel days.”

Q. How soon will I see results?
A. Performance improvement can take place in as little as three days. “Visual Improvement” can take from two to four weeks depending on your effort level. It’s becoming common to see a camper go down 1-2 dresses sizes within the first camp. Remember, everyone is different!
Q. What will I do after camp is over?
A. You can get re-measured and tested to show your progress and success in the program. Many (up to 80%) of the campers return for a second and even third camp. On your week off between boot camps we have many options for you to keep up your intensity before you start the next session – Running Camp, Online Personal Training or Private Personal Training.
Q. What if I miss a day or two durnig the session?
A. Missed days may be made up during the session for which you are currently enrolled. Unused or missed days cannot be carried over to the next session; no credits or refunds will be issued. It is EASY to give up and it is EASY to give in to the temptation of sleep or whatever else may come your way. This policy is put in place in order for us to get the best possible performance from you during our 4 short weeks together. CONSISTENCY is the key. That key unlocks the answers to all of your past failures with working out and weight loss attempts.
